1/20/2016 – Eau Claire, Wisconsin — An Oklahoma woman traveling the country has pleaded guilty to engaging in prostitution after a patron of a Wisconsin bar notified police.

Crysta L. Rice, 22, recently pleaded guilty in an Eau Claire County Court to a misdemeanor charge of prostitution.

According to court records, Rice had traveled from Oklahoma City to Wisconsin and was approaching men at the O’Leary’s Pub on Claremont Ave., asking them if they wanted to “have a little fun.” Rice would then inform patrons of the motel room number she was staying at in a nearby America’s Best Value Inn.

At least one bar patron notified police.

Police were able to locate ads Rice had placed on Backpage.com soliciting prostitution and an undercover officer made contact with her.

Rice was placed under arrest after she offered to perform specific sexual services in exchange for cash.

Rice reportedly told police that she is from Oklahoma City and that she has been traveling the country, living out of motels, and prostituting online. Rice claims to have been engaging in prostitution for less than a year and only resorted to it after she was unable to find work.

Rice was sentenced to one-year deferred, $250 fine, 40-hours of community service and forbidden to post escort related ads online. If Rice successfully completes her probation the prostitution charge will be reduced to disorderly conduct.

No criminal record could be found for Rice in Oklahoma.
